Eagle Marin

CV: Inoue Marina

Rating: A

Role: AoE Heal, Silver Eagle

Story

arin completed her Saint training in Greece. While there, the Eagle Goddess found her to have eagle-like insight; she always found ways to enhance her healing in combat, and then used her powerful Cosmo to recover herself. Marin is a very reliable companion. With her at their side, her teammates can act without regard for their own safety, because Marin will make their wounds disappear.

Skill Analysis

Godly Eagle Talon: Basic attack, 0 cost

Deals 80% (85%/90%/95%/100%) C.DMG to 1 enemy, and absorbs 80% of damage dealt as HP.

Eagle God's Technique: AoE heal, 1 cost

Heals all enemies for 120% (125%/130%/135%/140%) of C.ATK (+Healing).

Tip: Super strong skill.

Passive skill - Mysterious Mask: Buff, 0 cost

When using skills, she has an 80% chance to recover 30% (+Healing) of her HP.

Tip: Defensive skill. Very high chance to trigger, and gives great sustainability.

Analysis

Marin is the only AoE healer in the current Saint roster. Whether you like her or not, you’d do best to train her. She'll be of great help in the difficult instances and is worthy of a spot in any lineup.

Cosmo

Red: Thought Control (C.DMG & C.DMG Multiplier)

Yellow: Tenacity (HP & P.DEF)

Blue: Book of Healing (C.ATK & Healing)

Marin is a healer, but her base SPD is very low. Your main goal with Cosmo should be to enhance her healing and survivability. For her red Cosmo I have chosen Thought Control, as its main attributes increase C.ATK and C.DEF. For the yellow Cosmo Tenacity is a good choice as its main stats are HP and P.DEF. For Blue I took Book of Healing as it increases her C.ATK, and much needed Healing.

Special Cosmo: Laurel Tree (increases Healing taken for this character by 20%)

Rather than increasing healing for the entire team, Laurel Tree only works for Marin herself. It does grant a buff, but the effect is not very well suited for Marin.

Lineup

Marin can fit in most lineups and be paired with most Saints. Chameleon June is her best companion; one to spread the damage taken, and one to AoE heal. This combo makes it very difficult for the enemy team to harm you, and it reduces your chances of being focused down.

Counters

Lineups with Marin usually also have June. When it comes to dealing with powerful healing lineups, you should always try to take Marin, their healer, down first. Otherwise you’ll soon have the enemy laughing in your face as their wounds close up in front of your eyes.

June has decent SPD, so to deal with this lineup you’ll need a control with higher SPD than her. Once that’s done, you try to take Marin down with single-target attacks or other high damaging skills within one round. If that fails, she'll most likely be at full HP again on the next round. If you lack single-target damage, then you should control Marin and use AoE attacks to chip away at the enemy.
